I went to art school with Nick Kuszyk and I think I only met him once when we were in a group show together but I always dug his art and it’s great to see so much of it in NYC now.
Infamously took the money he got from a grant and taped a ton of cash to the back of all his paintings. It caused a mini riot and people stole all his work and started trashing the gallery.
I talked to someone carrying like five of his paintings down the street and asked her about it. She told me she just ran out of the gallery with them. I was pretty jealous because she had some of his art but she mostly just did it for the money taped to them which seems completely insane.
I actually finally got one of his paintings but not until I moved to NYC.
