In the last month or so I had four cameras malfunction on me.

It started when I dropped my favorite point and shoot 35mm camera the Ricoh GR1. It lasted for about a roll and then suddenly stopped working.

I ordered a new one and went to my back up the Yashica T4. I have broken about a dozen T4s in my life so when this one started rewinding rolls of film for no reason I wasn’t surprised.

I switched to my Contax T2 which I had repaired many years ago after IT started rewinding rolls of film for no reason. While it was in the shop I bought a GR1 and never looked back. Apparently I paid the repair shop for nothing since it had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I can’t very well take it back and explain they didn’t fix it right four years ago.

Luckily by the time this all happened my new GR1 had shown up. Unfortunately it sounded really weird and by the time I finished my first roll it wasn’t winding properly and the lens was getting stuck. The ebay seller kindly refunded my money and I bought a new one but it’s being sent from Japan so I actually went back to the original back up T4 and hoped for the best. Amazingly I have shot two rolls of film on it with no issues but it does have an occasional light leak.

Anyway, I got 11 rolls back from the last month and while I had some issues with light leaks (seen above) really only two of the 8 rolls I shot with these broken cameras had real issues and on both of those I still got a couple decent shots. (The other three rolls were shot with the Nikon N80 - the first pro camera I ever bought.)

The whole point of this is that I got a bunch of film back and you are going to see a lot of it over the next two weeks. Get excited.
